We, the growers of Addenda® and the support workers behind the scenes, market products via garden centres and florists. Their characters connect into the wishes of various groups of consumers. Are you creative or classical? Do you love warmth and welcome? Or perhaps your prefer tranquillity? You will always find a plant that provides a valuable addition to your lifestyle. We concentrate on the Campanula and the Hebe. We grow a number of different varieties. We work on the basis of our core values and mission, details of which can also be found on this page. Every plant has its own brand and identity. You can therefore choose exactly what suits you. You can also always be sure that you are buying top quality and a superlative brand. Always beautiful! Please feel free to send us your questions and/or comments. These help us continuously improve!
We consider it to be our mission to introduce products to the market, via plant/flower specialists, that support the business of retailers and which reassure the consumers with a feeling of sustainability. In line with this, we adhere to a quality policy in terms of our processes and products, that is based on targets and core values.
Innovative: we create.
In order to be 'always beautiful', you must be 'always working'. That is why we constantly check how we could improve our plants and how we could develop new varieties. And we can do so because we receive excellent hints and tips and ideas from you and other customers. Haven't you sent us a mail or tweet yet? Then why not send us something! We would like to continue to inspire and surprise. This also applies to the businesses with whom we collaborate. We are an A-brand and want to stay that way!
Together: we are connected.
We know better than anyone that you can aim high on your own but cannot achieve all that much. We have discovered how valuable it is to collaborate with the customer in order to come up with better products. That is why 'connection' is the key word!
Distinctive: we make the difference.
You can find some or all of our range at the garden centre or florist. This depends, among other things, on the store's policy and the season. The more choice you have, the nicer the arrangements you can create. We supply many varieties, colours and sizes and regularly introduce new varieties. That's how we make the difference. We do this by taking a close look at what you want and what is required by the businesses around us.
Clarity: we do what we promise.
What do you and the sales points expect from us? Or what should they be able to expect from us? These are simple questions that we take very seriously. We also look at our options in terms of fulfilling these requirements as effectively as possible. Or, and this is our primary objective, how we can exceed these expectations. Only then can you talk in terms of inspiring and surprising! But this is what we do, we are clear about that. This you can be sure of!
As one of the very first growers' associations, we recognised that the consumer places more trust in a branded product. The decision to grow plants according to a brand format was very much rooted in firm ground, both literally and metaphorically. Which growers fulfil the requirements? How do we shape the range? What are the quality standards for processes and products? Where does our distinctive force lie and so on.
Aside from the fact that our growers are complete professionals, they also distinguish themselves via their passion to perform a bit better every day. They do this by continuously surprising and inspiring the consumer and trade to be 'always beautiful'!
Grower Piet Kuivenhoven from Poeldijk explains: ’In 2016 our family company will celebrate its 100th birthday; all this time we have been working on the same piece of land. I am the fourth generation and the fifth is ready to start work. The first Kuivenhoven cultivated plants in open ground; later they grew the plants against walls and under glass and now we use modern greenhouses. The family has grown lots of different crops: vegetables, grapes, flowers and bedding plants. There are very few plants that haven't been grown here. At the end of the 70's, we started growing pansies and geraniums in the summer and tomatoes and lettuces in the winter. We have all gained vast experience and expertise. We fill the garden all year round with pot plants, focussing on the more exclusive and floral seasonal products. Everything in our garden is a seasonal product. And that's how we would like to keep it. If a product has a beginning and an end, the consumer looks forward to its appearance. It is also more 'natural'. At the end of last century, we stumbled across the Campanula. To begin with, this was very premature. The efforts made by the Addenda® growers, however, meant the plant and the cultivation methods underwent a substantial process of development. The result was a stunning product that delights the trade and consumers. I love this profession, I am a grower to the core and, together with my colleagues, I invest a huge amount of energy in improving existing varieties and developing new ones. Stronger tendrils, branches and leaves; new colours; a longer flowering period and greater resistance to disease and cold. Not a year goes by without me being busy with around 20 to 30 new varieties. Always looking to trigger or surprise my customers or provide them with new ideas. This wouldn't be possible if I stood still! I see my profession as something we do together. Me and the customer. The customer must be happy with me and me with him. That is why I ask the customer for feedback. I work with him or her to seek out the connection; I need to be able to talk with my customers seriously and openly.'
We would really appreciate any responses to Piet's story. Because of the fact that he spends more time in his greenhouse than in front of his computer, you can respond to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
